Meeting Conduct



To ensure that each support group is a safe space, we ask that attendees read and adhere to the following rules:

Listen to and respect all attendees: Having your voice heard is an important part of the support group therapeutic process. All attendees should therefore be courteous, listen and show respect to each other’s unique views and opinions.

Refrain from abuse and discrimination: Verbal and physical abuse will not be accepted at support groups. Similarly, language that acts to discriminate against a person's race, sex or any other social categorisation will not be tolerated.

Act with appropriate language and conduct: Inappropriate behaviour such as the use of profanities and attending meetings under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be accepted.

Be mindful of potentially distressing disclosures: To ensure the support group remains a safe space, attendees should be mindful of discussing trigger inducing content including homophobia/transphobia, abuse such as child or animal abuse, rape and sexual violence, drug and alcohol use, incest, eating disorders, self-harm, and terrorism.

Uphold the confidentiality of group members: Group confidentiality is an important part of building trust and allowing attendees to participate freely. Attendees should not divulge the personal information shared during meetings.

By entering our meeting, you are agreeing to adhere to our policies and procedures. Anyone who infringes upon the rules of the group will be asked to leave the session.  It is up to the discretion of the facilitator to decide whether you can return to a meeting.
